Burrito Union Swim Course Details:Set To Win

                         600 Yards

The Burrito Union 5 & 10 Hour Triathlon swim is staged at Interfalls Lake inside Pattison Park in Superior, Wisconsin. Water temperatures are typically between 72 and 76 degrees.  A wetsuit is highly recommended.

The swim course is a triangle, which starts at the beach in front of the Pattison Park Bath House. Swimmers will keep the swim buoys on their left-hand side for the entire swim. A neutral area, which is marked with buoys, where there are no swimmers, will separate the swimmers on the outbound and return legs of the swim. Lifeguards in kayaks and rowboats will monitor burrito Union 5 & 10 Hour Tri swimmers.

Pattison State Park features the highest waterfalls in Wisconsin and the fourth highest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. Big Manitou Falls is 165 feet high, and Twin Little Manitou Falls is 31 feet high. Pattison Park is a 1,436-acre park which also has a lake with a beach, a nature center, camping, nine miles of hiking trails, and abundant wildlife.

               14.7 Miles

The Bernick’s bike course for the Burrito Union 5 & 10 Hour Triathlon is a little more challenging than it looks! The out and back course is smooth and fast for the first 7.5 miles, in fact, it’s downhill! Once you make the turn, the challenge begins.  The climb back to Pattison Park boasts a slight gain in elevation of 367 feet.  This course is a blast to ride.

The bike begins at Bath House in Pattison Park and winds through the park to Wisconsin Highway 35.  There is NO aid station on the bike course.

Highway 35 can be heavily traveled and will be intensely marshaled by USAT officials.  In 2011 the USAT official gave a number of warnings, but did not issue any disqualifications.

Air temperatures generally range from the low 60′s early in the morning to daytime highs have reached into the high 80’s.  Load a cooler and be prepared for anything!

Run Course Details:
3.1 Miles

The run course is a fantastic trail run, on very runner friendly trails that traverse Pattison Park.  Runners will explore the upland hardwood forest and lowland forest, with glimpses of the winding Black River from overlooks. You’ll stay on a spur trail from the Logging Camp Trail and pass three backpack campsites before heading back toward Interfalls Lake.  Be warned—the bugs love Pattison Park.  You may want to pack some bug dope!
